Like many of you out there, we are also soon going to be joining the ranks of people working from home.
Therefore, we put together our tips to make the best out of your home office.
So to start, it’s very important that you remember to take all of your gear that you will need. So, your cables, your laptop, charger, fast internet connection, all the tech you might need to really connect from home to your office. Next, prepare a space that is comfortable, has everything you need, free of distraction, and is as private as possible.
Structure your day as if you were going to the office, get up at your normal time, get dressed, have breakfast, brush your teeth, and show up at your work space at your usual time.
And remember, set those time boundaries and expectations clearly, especially if you live with other people.
Make sure that you keep your social contact with your colleagues, like I’m doing right here with Ana Maria Montero, so that you don’t isolate yourself.
And in case you’re in a video conference with more than just one person, then make sure that the calls are inclusive.
And remember to take your usual breaks. If you can get outside, get some fresh air, go for a walk, do a little of stretching.
And the advantage of working from home is that you save time not commuting to work. And you can use that time to spend it with your family, your friends, or for yourself.
